SEASON 10 DRESS CODE

2026-2027 | Complete Policy, Quick Guide & Shopping Lists

Purpose: Proper dancewear allows teachers to see alignment, supports safe movement and helps dancers arrive ready to learn. Requirements vary by genre and level.

General Expectations

All dancers are expected to arrive prepared and in full dress code for every class.
If a dancer is not in dress code, the teacher will provide a reminder or send a note home. After two reminders or notes home, a dancer who arrives out of dress code will not be permitted to dance in class that day.
Loose jewelry, watches and smartwatches are not permitted in any class. Jeans or denim, outdoor shoes and loose hair are also not permitted.
There is more flexibility in the style of dancewear permitted for some genres; however, dancers may not use class time to change. Dancers taking Ballet should arrive ready in their Ballet dress code for the evening so changing does not take away from instructional time.
Cell phones are not permitted in class.
Dancers should bring a water bottle, use the washroom before class and arrive focused and ready to learn.
Dance shoes must be clean and reserved for indoor use.
Please label all shoes, clothing, water bottles and personal items with the dancer’s name.
The Edge, 4816 B 50th Avenue in Leduc, is TDC’s recommended dancewear supplier and has our requirements on file.

Hair

Ballet, Ballet Tech, Pre-Pointe and Pointe: hair must be secured in a proper, neat ballet bun. Please arrive with hair already prepared.
All other classes: hair must be pulled back, tidy and completely off the face. This includes face-framing pieces and long bangs.
Families are responsible for supplying their own elastics, clips, pins and hairnets.

Important Footwear Notes

Pointe shoes may only be worn with instructor approval and must be professionally fitted.
Hip Hop performance shoes must be all white, or as close to all white as possible, with no sparkles, characters or lights.

Dancers may choose one of the approved bodysuit styles: Mondor 13520 bodysuit in Ink Blue, 3505 Wide Strap Bodysuit in Ink Blue, or SL07 Tank w/Pinch in Ink Blue

Ballet Tech

Follow the dancer’s assigned choreography class dress code and hair requirements.
RAD Grades 1–8 require a character skirt, purchased through TDC.
RAD Grades 1–8 also require Bloch Canvas Character Shoes – Grades 1–3: Karacta 3/4″ S0315G Girls; Grades 4+: Karacta 1 1/4″ S0314L Womens.

Pre-Pointe & Pointe

Pre-Pointe: follow the applicable Ballet dress code. Bare feet; no pointe shoes.
Pointe: follow the applicable Ballet dress code, plus instructor-approved, professionally fitted pointe shoes and required accessories.

Boys Attire

Solid-colour, fitted T-shirt with fitted dance pants or leggings.
Black slip-on jazz shoes.

Sessional Classes

Intellidance Babies, Intellidance Tykes, Intellidance Tots, & Intellidance Kids

Comfortable, movable athletic wear for both the participating adult and child.
Bare feet are appropriate unless otherwise directed.

Dance Sessional Classes

Fitted athletic clothing or stretchable dancewear.
Bare feet are acceptable because multiple genres may be sampled.
